Requirements for Online Registration of a Newborn
To register a newborn in Spain, you need to:
- To have been born in Spanish territory or to have an official birth certificate .
- That the father, mother or legal guardian is registered at the address where the baby will be registered.
- Submit the required documentation :
- Full birth certificate or updated Family Book.
- ID card or NIE of the parents or guardians.
- Proof of address (rental agreement, deed or authorization from the owner).
- Go to or submit the procedure at the town hall corresponding to the family address.
- Register within the first 30 days of birth or as soon as the official certificate is available.
